Family Trust

You may have a Will in place. How would you feel if external factors prevented your estate from being administered in accordance with what you had intended?

Having worked hard all your life and made sure you have a Will in place detailing your wishes, how would you feel if external factors prevented your estate from being administered in accordance with what you intended?

There are six main problems that put your estate under real threat.

What are these 6 problems my estate might face?

What is a Family Protection Trust?

To put it simply, a Family Protection Trust is like a safety deposit box, where you can put your house and any other financial assets. This ring-fences those assets and protects them against risks that may arise in the future. In the eyes of the law, the assets are actually owned by your Trust, rather than by you as an individual, and therefore are protected against the aforementioned dangers. However, the assets are still yours. You have complete control and can move, sell and invest just as you normally would.

Who are the Trustees?

You are the trustees of your own Trust, giving you complete control. You can, however, appoint other trustees if you wish. One option is to appoint a professional trustee, which is a service we offer. This has a number of benefits:

• We are one of only a handful of companies who specialises in these in Trusts, so we would be able to ensure it operated most effectively.

• We have a proven track record and will deal with the Local Authority on your family’s behalf if required.

• Our advice will continue after you have passed away to ensure your loved ones inherit 100% of what they are due, at the right time.

It takes around 4-5 weeks to set up a trust and we hold your hand throughout the whole process. Nothing is binding until you have seen the trust documents and are happy with the content.
