About me
I’m Jane Hopkins, and I am the owner of Wills Made Clear and Probate Services.
My journey into this sector didn’t start with wills or probate - it began way back in 1984, when I first stepped into financial services. I worked in banks and with all sorts of finance providers, learning the industry from the ground up.
Eventually I moved into mortgages, helping people to find the right mortgages and all the products that go hand in hand with them. It was a good career, and I loved it - but life had something very different in store for me.​​​
​Everything changed when my dad was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer aged just 62. In what felt like a single moment, I went from being his daughter to being the person organising his Will, arranging his lasting power of attorney, sorting out his funeral plans, and later, handling the probate when he passed away a year later. It was one of the hardest times of my life, but it also opened my eyes. I realised how important it is to have everything in place before you need it; because when you’re grieving and trying to stay strong for your family, the last thing you want to be dealing with is paperwork and uncertainty.

Not long after, I learned that around 70% of people in the UK don’t have a Will in place at all. That statistic really hit me, as I knew how it felt to be thrown into the deep end, and I didn’t want other families to go through that without support. That’s when something clicked for me. I decided to move into estate planning, and I’ve been helping individuals and families across the country ever since, making things clearer, calmer, and easier to understand.
Outside of work, my family is my world! I love spending time with my daughters and my grandchildren, they keep me busy and grounded and feeling young! I enjoy a good swim to clear my head, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Latin American ballroom dancing. There’s something about the music and the movement that just lifts the spirit.

My story isn’t just about a career change. It’s about turning a painful experience into a purpose — helping people prepare, protect their loved ones, and find peace of mind long before they ever need it.
